Ouch and a Draw
The Weekend Past
The PHOENIX MEN played Newcastle looking for a 7th game unbeaten on a windy, cold night in Wellington. I thought they played well, but Newcastle had more penetration and it’s never good to lose a goal in the first minutes of both halves and they went down 0-3. Still, an awesome start, still in second place, but now the real test of the squad - can they come back stronger.

The PHOENIX WOMEN also played at home, this time in windy Porirua, in a hard-fought but entertaining 2-2 draw with Melbourne Victory. The draw leaves them 3rd in the table:
