The Phoenix Brief - 18th Dec 2023

It's a Simple Game - Score Goals

Two strong games from the PHOENIX over the last 72 hours, just a shame the MEN had their shooting boots on, but not the WOMEN. This coming Saturday, 23rd December, there is a double-header at Sky Stadium, and the Phoenix have announced that mates of members can go free - details below.

The Weekend Past

The PHOENIX MEN without top scorer Oskar Zawada beat Macarthur FC 3-0 on Monday night to go back top of the table after 8 games - an incredible start given the turn over and re-focus onto youth. A fully deserved win which could have been more, and included yet another penalty stop from our young keeper.

Also:

The PHOENIX WOMEN went down 1-2 away at Adelaide on Saturday night after blowing a stream of chances and then letting in a soft goal right at the end. The PHOENIX WOMEN are now 4th in the table after 8 games and certainly still in with the leading pack:

Games Next Weekend

Saturday 23rd Dec, 5.30pm, Sky Stadium: PHOENIX MEN v Western Sydney

As noted, everyone with a Phoenix membership card can get one person in for free using a unique code. I will be there, so if you want to come find us drop me a text on 021 149 0541 when you get to the ground.

Yellow Fever are doing the now traditional 12 pubs of Christmas tour, so should be a fun crowd.
