Melbourne are good!
Exciting Friday night for the men’s team with over 9,000 in Sky Stadium, not so good Saturday for the women, reviews below along with some interesting stories - $2M to have a beer with David Beckham! And look forward to seeing some of you in Porirua next Sunday for the women’s game.
The Weekend Past
The Phoenix Men drew 1-1 at home with Melbourne Victory in a tight 1st v 2nd encounter tipped heavily towards Victory with Tim Payne being sent off before VAR came to our rescue in the last seconds of the game with a penalty to let Captain Rufer confidently score to equalize. Top of the League!
Also:
The Phoenix Women went down 1-2 away at Melbourne City, they dominated the first half but Phoenix played much better second half but not well enough to get that equalizer; another away defeat, but back to fortress Porirua next weekend.
