The Weekend Past
The Phoenix men did not play due it to being International Week, but Tim Payne & Finn Surman featured for the All Whites versus Greece in a friendly alongside Phoenix old-boys Singh, Cacace, McCowattt, Waine, Lewis, Boxall. Phoenix keeper Alex Paulsen was an unused sub. They lost 2-0.
The Phoenix women did play, losing 1-0 away at Central Coast with another dodgy penalty call going against the ‘Nix; but they’ve still had an excellent start to the season sitting in 3rd after 5 games.
Games Next Weekend
After the defensive heroics away versus Melbourne Victory, the Phoenix men seek to extend their unbeaten run with their last ever home game in Auckland (Auckland gets its own professional team next year) versus one of the usual top clubs albeit City have started poorly and sacked their manager:
Saturday 25th Nov 5.30pm, Auckland, Men v Melbourne City
The Phoenix women also play up in Auckland versus the top team:
Saturday 25th Nov 2.45pm, Auckland, Women v Perth Glory
