The Phoenix Brief - 22nd April 2024
Saturday Night is Huge
One game left of the regular season for the Phoenix Men, if they win on Saturday night and Central Coast lose at the same time, then they are champions for the first time ever! However, anything different to that could see Central Coast take top spot as they will still have one more game to play. In short, get along to Sky Stadium on Saturday 7.15pm for what is sure to be a crazy night.
The Weekend Past
The Phoenix Men played away to Newcastle Jets and drew 1-1. It was a disappointing first half where Newcastle created several excellent chances but scored just one. However, in the second half, the Phoenix Men re-asserted themselves and got a deserved equalizer from Kostas but then missed a last-minute penalty which would have bought home all 3 points.
This is the table as of Sunday night, Central Coast are busy in the Asian Champions League which is causing them fixture headaches which is why they still have 2 games to play. We need to win versus Macarthur next Saturday!
