The Phoenix Brief - 28th Jan 2024
Back to Winning Ways
Two games, two wins, both games with plenty of drama. Both teams are away next weekend, but then Tuesday 6th Feb, the men play 3rd place (and last years champs) Central Coast at Sky Stadium, 4pm - get it in your diary!!
The Weekend Past
The Phoenix Men go two points clear at the top of the A-League after 14 games with a power-strike in the last minutes from returning superstar striker Zawada to win away at Newcastle Jets 2-1:
Also:
The Phoenix Women returned to sweet-home Porirua and got a much needed win 2-0 over Canberra United which included a very, very soft red card for our keeper to try and even things up a bit in the game, but our reserve keeper came on and saved the penalty. The team is now just 3 points outside the play-offs so all to play for this season still.
