The Phoenix Brief – 10th March 2025

The Phoenix Women have a Lifeline

The Men’s team played like they have all season and just couldn’t get anything to work for them, finals hopes are pretty much over now.

The Women came back to claim 3 points and keep their finals hope alive.

The Weekend Past

The Phoenix Men…

Are one loss away from a new club record of 5 in a row. Morale and confidence is out an all time low and with more difficult games ahead, it’s hard to see how Italiano can pick them out of the rut at the moment. A lot of raw, young talent are seeing game time, and optimistically this may pay dividends next season.

The Phoenix Women…

Held their nerve to keep their season alive. Going down 1-0 mid-way through the first half, the women managed to find the back of the net through a fantastic strike from Tanaka marking her first A-League goal. And with minutes remaining, Fergusson managed to find the winning goal from a pinpoint cross. 3 points and finals still within reach.
