The Phoenix Brief – 21st October 2024
Oh, Wellington is Wonderful
The Phoenix Men kicked off their new campaign in front of 7.5k fans in the beaming Wellington sun. Lots of moments to enjoy from the new look team, and with many big name signings still on the unavailable list, the potential for an exciting display of football beckons.
Next weekend the Nix Men are away at Perth, where we typically struggle playing at midnight NZ time… Though Perth are coming off the back of a heavy 6-1 defeat…
The Weekend Past
It looked and felt like a round one display. The Wellington Phoenix Men had sparks of joy and the new Japanese visa imports showing some quality touches. Keepers at both ends had little to do, despite the game finishing 1-1. Kosta Barbarouses scored for the Nix, his 94th A-League goal, and his first ever in Round 1.
