The Phoenix Brief – 24th March 2025

Maybe... still a chance?

The Phoenix were in a must win match at home this weekend, and unfortunately fell short of the mark. With Brisbane dropping points as well, there’s still a chance for the Phoenix Women to sneak in to the 6, but the last three games are all must wins.

The All Whites played at Sky Stadium on Friday Night, Tim Payne had a stand-out performance, 1 goal and 3 assists.

The Weekend Past

The Phoenix Women…

Could not recover after a late penalty call in the first half. Despite out-shooting the Mariners, the Nix just couldn’t find the back of the net. Former Nix player, Gomez sealed all 3 points with a half volley, ending the match 2-0.

A tall order to win next week at home against unbeaten Melbourne City, but any top 6 aspirations depend on it.
