While the Phoenix Men’s season winds down with just one more game to go, there's at least a bit of stability ahead with Chiefy signing on for another season. The Women have wrapped up their campaign, and it’s time for a fresh start next year.

The Phoenix Men…

Went down 1-0 away to Brisbane. A side competing for the wooden spoon. A side who kept their first clean sheet all season. On a bobbly pitch, the first half was a slog with few clear chances either way. Brisbane broke through early in the second half, and despite some late efforts from the Nix, they struggled to create clear chances. Just two shots on target — not good enough.

One home game remains to close the regular season, but this result confirms Wellington will be part of the Australia Cup playoffs in Darwin.
