The Phoenix Brief – 3rd February 2025

BYE, Brisbane

The rumour mill of any men’s signings is a little lighter than expected, with Chiefy hoping to have them onboard by this weeks game. The latest gossip:

  • Stoke City have submitted a bid for Luke Supyk

  • Spanish playmaker Victor Ruiz rumoured to join on loan from Swiss side FC St. Gallen

The Weekend Past

The Phoenix Women…

Played away to Brisbane last night. Needing to secure all three points to break back into the top 6 was a tall order against a strong side. The women controlled a lot of the possession and had many moments of exciting build-up play, but just lacked the finishing touch. The deciding goal came from Brisbane’s first corner, just after the hour mark – controversy as the Nix keeper looked to be fouled during the sequence.

The women play at home against 2nd place Melbourne Victory.
