The Phoenix Brief – 5th May 2025

Let's move on from this season

The Phoenix Men wrapped up a tough season with another loss at home. Finishing 11th on the ladder, they now head to Darwin for the Australia Cup playoffs — and need a serious lift.

The Weekend Past

The Phoenix Men…

Ended their regular season with a 2-0 defeat to Perth, who were already locked in last place. Adam Taggart scored in each half, while the Nix managed just one shot on target despite having more of the ball. It's been a rough run — arguably the worst team in the league over the last five rounds. Only one home win all season, and none in 2025.

Not the momentum you want heading into knockout football.

Welcome to Wellington

Wrexham AFC are rumoured to be playing Wellington this July. A big crowd, a global spotlight, and a fresh start for the Nix. An announcement is expected this week.
