The Phoenix Brief – 6th January 2025
New Year Resolutions
The Nix Men will be hoping for a Summer signing or two to bolster their depth, while the Nix Women will be looking to build and stay consistent in their progress.
The Weekend Past
The Phoenix Men…
Played without Captain Alex Rufer due to injury, and the lack of depth was really emphasized. While our curse at AAMI park continues, it was the lack of any attacking prowess that was shocking, our first and only shot came at the 60th minute, marking our first touch in the opposition box. The Men are going to need to put in a massive shift at home to reignite the fanbase.

The Men currently sit in 10th place, 5 points outside the top 6.
The Phoenix Women…
Responded well to the defeat last week and increased the Porirua Park win streak to 3. It was Grace Jale that opened the scoring with a superb long-range strike against her former club, before Fergusson made it 2 in 2 games. This launched the women back into the top 6 with a quick turnaround before the next game on Thursday.

The Women currently sit in 6th place, 5 points outside the top 3.
